5 Ways to Make A Long Plane Ride More Bearable

Hi Friends!

If you’re like me, a long-haul flight can be daunting. I am sending this email in hopes of easing your mind about taking on an adventure that requires a long flight as I’ve discovered some “secrets” to making it more bearable when you’re stuck in coach class or even premium economy.
After recently traveling on several long-haul flights, I made sure to jot down a few ways I made the flights more enjoyable while they were still fresh in my head. With some thought and preparation prior to the flight, you will be set to take off in comfort.

  • Consider upgrading your seat selection-There are so many different classes of service on airlines anymore you’ll want to do a bit of research into what your airlines. Do you need more legroom to be comfortable…you don’t always have to upgrade to premium economy but check out a less expensive main cabin “plus” seat where you get dedicated overhead space for your carryon, more leg room, better seat recline and some upgraded snacks.Water bottle.jpg
  • Bring a water bottle to fill up– This way you don’t have to wait for the flight attendants schedule to bring you a drink.
  • Pack a supply of snacks-Circumstances such as a change in the flight departure or turbulence can delay the delivery of meals plus if you’re picky (like me) you will want items to snack on if you’re served something you aren’t fond of.
  • Wear
    layered, loose fitting clothes-
This can ensure you are comfortable during the long-haul flight in case it gets super chilly or if it’s too hot!
  • Packing an extra set of clothes to change- If you’re flying more than 7-8 hours consider changing clothes towards the end of the flight to feel refreshed upon your arrival. Some airlines in business class give travelers PJs so you can do that too back in coach or premium economy. You just have to BYPJs! 😉

We have several recommendations for items that you can purchase to help with your next long haul flight such as a portable footstool for the vertically challenged and the BEST neck pillow that allowed me to finally get some good shut eye on my European adventures!
