We've got 5 great tips for you to make sure you're maximizing your vacation dollars!
No matter what type of trip you're taking here are 5 tips to help you stretch your dollars and still provide an excellent experience:
1. Start planning NOW!
It’s easier to save money in small amounts over time and you’ll usually find better prices booking in advance...especially for a cruise or a river cruise as they fill up many times at least a year in advance. Plus...you'll probably be able to upgrade your stateroom to a balcony or afford that ocean front plunge pool room as well by saving money a little at a time.
2. Travel During the Off-Season
If you have some flexibility on choosing your vacation dates, avoid traveling during peak seasons and anytime kiddos are out of school. You'll typically find less crowded attractions as well which is a bonus. Tourist seasons vary by destination, but in general, traveling during the summer months or during holiday breaks means paying more for nearly everything not to mention those crazy crowds. Have you been to Disney in the summer? Oy!
3. Set Priorities
Before going nutty by adding in every kind of experience you could find on the interwebs for your destination, you'll need to define your travel priorities. Make sure you and your traveling companions have a chat before designing your trip wishes so you know what you’re interested in experiencing most...a different culture, learn more about history, or even just take a few days to relax.
4: Take a Cruise or consider an all-inclusive resort
Booking a cruise typically saves you about 20-30% over what you could experience on a land vacation, since so much is bundled altogether for a relatively low price. If you live near a coast, you can avoid paying airfare by sailing directly out of the nearest port city as well. An all-inclusive resort might be a great option for you because you know exactly what the cost of your trip will be. (And I include a cost estimate for you in my travel app to give you an idea for tipping on your trips as well so you REALLY know what your final number is.)
5. Get help from a pro
According to Travel Market Report, consumers state that travel agents save them, on average, at least $452 per trip, plus they save 4 hours of travel planning!
Travel agents have access to prices that the general public doesn't. I recently had clients wanting a $5300 British Isles Cruise on Royal Caribbean but my price was $3500 for the exact same cruise! And I was able to give them $100 in onboard credit they wouldn't get booking direct.
Add that to saving you time, stress, and maybe even your sanity as we will check over everything and make sure all the details are taken care, all while staying in (or crazier yet...under) your budget.
Since CoVid-19 came into our lives people are using the services of a travel agent more as they've SEEN the value first hand! I'd love to assist you with your next trip! I passionately believe I'll save you money over booking the trip yourself!
